Kodak Professional PORTRA 800 135-36 is a 36-image, highly sensitive professional panchromatic sensitized roll color negative film featuring a fine grain that greatly facilitates eventual digital scanning of the film and expands the possibilities in portrait, fashion and advertising photography. The film has the widest exposure flexibility in its category, high edge sharpness and faithful reproduction of colour tones and skin tones. The film's rated sensitivity is ISO 800, but its great exposure flexibility guarantees very good results even when overexposed and underexposed. The film performs particularly well in underexposure, where it can handle a 1EV stop underexposure (ISO 1600) well. It is balanced for daylight, but thanks to its spectral sensitivity, it also ensures optimal exposure results at different chromatic temperatures.
This panchromatic sensitized film provides very good results under a variety of exposure conditions, and its colour rendition makes it ideal for portrait photography, particularly for its ability to capture extremely subtle skin tones and natural bright colours in the details shown. The film is characterized by its fine "skin tone" rendition, its ability to capture even the finest contrasts while retaining great exposure flexibility, finer color rendition, softer drawing and, thanks to its extremely fine grain, high edge sharpness. Although it is preferably intended for portrait and figurative photography, it can also be successfully used in other areas of creative photography, including commercial, advertising and fashion photography.
The film has improved reciprocating properties and higher colour image stability. A new generation of emulsion allows optimal results when scanning negatives. Due to its fine grain, the film is suitable for large format enlargements as well as for scanning.
