Description

The use of polarizing filters contributes to a significant improvement in the colour rendering of the image. Colours are brighter, richer, cleaner, without blue veils, and reflections and glare are reduced by filtering out light that has become polarised due to reflections from shiny non-metallic surfaces.

Most photographers still have them on the lens.

Polarizing filters are the most important filters for improving color rendition. They are colour neutral and are suitable for both analogue and digital photography. The polarizing filter effect is NOT achievable by any additional software modification! They have a rotatable mounting, by rotating they can be influenced in their effect.

- they intensify the rendering of clouds, sky blue is more saturated, colours are cleaner and brighter
- they reduce haze in long distance shots
- they remove glare e.g. on glass (not on metal), the water surface becomes clearer.
