Reverse macro coupling
Is a ring with a thread on each side that you use to connect 2 of any lens with the lenses facing each other. In this simple way you can achieve very strong macro, often with several times 4x magnification or more, for which you would need professional bellows and lenses costing tens of thousands. You can use any lens, e.g. even a manual lens from an old Praktica, and mount it in this retropolish, e.g. on a modern DSLR lens.
The resulting magnification is calculated simply by comparing the focal lengths according to the formula: lens/retro lens. So if you put a 50 mm on the 150 mm base lens mentioned above, you get a 3x macro.
The optical quality of such a solution is excellent, or as good as the quality of the lenses.
