Kodak HC-110 1 L negative developer

The highly concentrated Kodak HC-110 liquid developer is designed for developing black and white negative films as well as glass plates.

Compared to Kodak D-76 developer, it achieves slightly finer grain and weaker veil, but also less detail in the dark parts of the frame.

This developer is often used in technical and scientific photography, in push-processes and wherever higher contrast and shorter developing times are desired. According to tests, at optimum processing (Kodak T-Max 100 film) it gives a steeper curve in the highlights and midtones than in the shadows, which is different from the "classic" S-curve.
